Oct 10, 2026 7:00 pm 11:00 pm

Join us for an unforgettable evening celebrating the opening of American Made: Paintings and Sculpture from the DeMell Jacobsen Collection, a landmark exhibition honoring the breadth and brilliance of American art across two centuries.

Through the Decades

Inspired by the Taubman Museum of Art’s 75th Anniversary in 2026, this festive Opening Celebration embraces the theme “Through the Decades,” inviting guests to step into the evolving story of American creativity through an evening of art, music, fashion, and interactive experiences.

Be among the first to explore this extraordinary exhibition, featuring more than 100 works by renowned artists including John Singer Sargent, Mary Cassatt, Thomas Cole, Elizabeth Catlett, and Robert Henri.

Drawn entirely from the celebrated DeMell Jacobsen Collection, the exhibition offers a rare opportunity to experience these masterworks together in one place—tracing the development of American art from early portraiture and landscape painting to modernism and beyond.

Throughout the evening, journey “through the decades” with themed experiences, live entertainment, and engaging activities that reflect the artistic spirit of the different eras represented in the exhibition. From the elegance of 19th-century portraiture to the bold innovation of 20th-century modernism, each moment of the night invites discovery, connection, and celebration.
