Front Porch Music Series: Seph Custer
Jun 14, 2026
3:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Settle into a summer afternoon of live music at the Taubman Museum of Art as we launch our new Front Porch Music Series, a relaxed outdoor concert experience celebrating regional talent on the Museum’s Patio.
Our inaugural performance features acclaimed Southwest Virginia musician Seph Custer, a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist known for transforming a single modified guitar into a rich, full-bodied sound that rivals an entire band.
Blending elements of Americana, folk, blues, bluegrass, funk, rock, and old-time music, Custer delivers dynamic, high-energy performances with pure musicianship and inventive technique.
Over the course of more than 1,200 live performances and two studio albums, Custer has built a devoted following throughout the region and beyond. He has appeared in tribute concerts at the Floyd Country Store honoring artists such as Bob Dylan, Carole King, Gordon Lightfoot, and Paul Simon, and has been featured by FloydFest and The Roanoke Times.
Bring a friend, grab a drink, and enjoy an afternoon of live music in a friendly, welcoming, and artful space. Beer, wine, and other refreshments will be available for purchase. Museum Members receive one complimentary drink ticket as a thank you for your ongoing support.
The Front Porch Music Series is designed to bring community together through exceptional live music in one of downtown Roanoke’s most unique outdoor settings.
Whether you stay for the full performance or simply stop by to unwind, all are welcome for this free new event series. No registration required.
Seating is limited; early arrival is encouraged!
