Embroidered Collage Class with Guest Artist Cornelia Marin
May 02, 2026
1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
This imaginative, hands-on class merges the tactile art of embroidery with the layered creativity of collage. Participants will explore storytelling through fabric, thread, and found materials.
Perfect for beginners and experienced makers alike, this class fosters a playful, exploratory approach to artmaking. No prior sewing experience is necessary—just an interest in working with your hands and a curiosity for combining traditional craft with contemporary collage.
Cornelia Marin is originally from Deva, Transylvania, and has lived in France for the past 33 years.
Marin’s work frequently features the female form and reflects a visual experience that is both expressive and dynamic through her use of multi-media including inks, oils, pastels, acrylics, collages, ceramics, and mosaics.
Brought originally to Roanoke through the Roanoke Saint-Lo Sister City Group, Marin returns frequently to her home away from home, spreading her artistic abilities and enthusiasm for fostering a shared love of the arts between cultures.
