A Lasting Vision: Building the Taubman Collection brings together W. Heywood Fralin, Joanne Leonhardt Cassullo, and Tonya Turner Carroll for a conversation about the vital role collectors play in shaping a museum’s permanent collection.
Moderated by Taubman Museum of Art Executive Director Cindy Petersen, the panel will explore how thoughtful collecting, long-term vision, and meaningful partnerships have helped define the Museum’s Permanent Collection over the past 75 years.
Drawing from their personal experiences, the panelists will discuss what motivates their collecting philosophies, how relationships with artists, institutions, and advisors inform their decisions, and why supporting a public collection matters.
Together, they will reflect on stewardship, legacy, and the impact of building a collection that serves both the community and future generations—offering insights into the people and perspectives behind the art on the walls.
