Be among the very first in Roanoke to experience VMFA on the Road: Virginia as America: Navigating Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness before it opens to the public.

During this special Member Hour, Taubman Museum of Art members are invited to enjoy exclusive early access to this remarkable traveling exhibition from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Organized in recognition of VA250, the Commonwealth’s commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution and the founding of the United States, the exhibition brings 14 works of art from VMFA’s permanent collection to Roanoke for a limited, two-day engagement.

Featuring paintings, prints, and decorative arts, Virginia as America explores the enduring promise of “Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness” through works that invite reflection on the nation’s history and its continuing pursuit of a more perfect union.

Enjoy a quieter, more intimate viewing experience before the exhibition opens to the public at 10 am, and be among the first in Southwest Virginia to encounter this state-of-the-art traveling exhibition from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.

Space is limited and registration is required. Registration link coming soon!
