Join us on for an enriching tour and talk with Monacan Indian Nation Elder Victoria Ferguson during October Member Hour!

Ferguson is an enrolled member of the Monacan Indian Nation of Virginia and one of two founding elders of Virginia Tech’s Indigenous Community Garden.

She also serves as the Program Director of Solitude and Presidential Ambassador to Native Nations at Virginia Tech.

During her talk, Ferguson will share her experiences as a Monacan elder and provide insights into traditional pottery-making and basket-weaving techniques, as well as beading and other arts, drawing from her personal journey and cultural heritage.

Afterwards, we invite you to explore Words Matter & Untold History, a new exhibition that underscores the richness and diversity of contemporary Indigenous experiences, highlighting artists who combine text and image.

This event is free for Members. Members may bring up to two guests for $10 each.
