Virtual Lunar New Year with Local Colors

Friday, February 12, 2021 - Saturday, February 27, 2021

10:00am - 10:30am

Lunar New Year is a special celebration recognized by Asian communities throughout the world, and is a time when families mark the changing of the traditional Chinese calendar with special foods, gifts, and customs.

This year - the Year of the Ox - we invite you to celebrate virtually with us!

Tune in to learn more about this ancient tradition, then get your creativity flowing with some fun, hands-on crafts as demonstrated in the video. Templates for creating your own are available for download by clicking here.

Free and open to the public, with no registration required. Just mark your calendars to watch along beginning February 12 at 10 am!

And after the virtual celebration, be sure to stop by the Museum to pick up a free Lunar New Year-themed Take + Make activity bag along with a traditional red envelope for good luck!

Lunar New Year is presented by Local Colors and the Taubman Museum of Art.
