Learn more about photographer Lewis Hine, one of the first in the United States to use photographs to document the need for social reform at the turn of the 20th century.

Hine's work is on view in The Subtle Power of Photographs: A Private Collection through January 10, 2021.

The exhibition is curated by the Eleanor D. Wilson Museum at Hollins University and is courtesy of collectors Walter and Sally Rugaber.
