Art Go Bloom Specialty Student Tour

Friday, May 17, 2019

Available for: K-12th grade

For one day only, classes and groups can take part in the special event offerings of Art Go Bloom and the Virginia Museum of Fine Art’s very own Artmobile! Expert gardeners and floral designers from across Virginia's Blue Ridge will create and display one-of-a-kind floral arrangements that reflect the beauty and creativity of more than 20 works of art on view in the Taubman’s galleries. Shown side by side, you'll be inspired by this ephemeral blooming of flowers, paintings and sculptures.

In addition to time spent touring the temporary floral and artwork pairings in the museum, students will spend time on the Artmobile, the Virginia Museum of Fine Art’s museum on wheels! Learn more about the Artmobile here.

To round out the guided tour and Artmobile interaction, students will spend time creating and playing in the museum’s innovative exploratory gallery, Art Venture.

Duration: 90 minutes

Exhibition: Highlights from a selection of Taubman artworks in the Art Go Bloom event, and the VMFA’s Artmobile exhibit
