Now a decade long tradition, the Women’s Luncheon hosted by the Taubman Museum of Art is an annual fundraiser celebrating women, art, and education. The money raised supports the exceptional initiatives of the museum.
This year’s luncheon will take on a new and exciting format. Principle designers from Judith Leiber Couture, BMW Group DesignworksUSA, and the Museum of Modern Art will provide insight into their unique careers in the art of design.
Ann Fralin Award: Given annually at the Women’s Luncheon to a woman who has made extraordinary contributions in the arts and education. This year’s honoree is Judith Leiber.
“We are delighted to host three speakers this year who are leaders in their fields and industries. We’re also ecstatic to honor Judith Leiber, a renowned luxury designer whose work is featured in our permanent collection,” says museum Executive Director Della Watkins, “Leiber, born in Hungary in 1921, embodies what it means to be a powerful woman — a Holocaust survivor and successful founder of an international brand.”
“I am delighted and honored to receive this most distinguished award from the Taubman Museum,” says Judith Leiber.
Art Venture Award: Presented annually to recognize outstanding leaders in our community who support the arts, education, and volunteerism in partnership with the museum. This year’s recipient is Southwest Virginia Ballet.
