The Ninth Annual Women's Luncheon raised $225,000. A sold out crowd of close to 800 people at the Hotel Roanoke and about 100 people in the museum's Black Box Theatre saw local leaders honored and former First Lady Laura Bush speak about literacy, education, and her time in the White House.
The two local women honored for their community contributions were:
- Nancy Agee, President and CEO of Carilion Clinic, received the Ann Fralin Award
- Roanoke County Superintendent, Dr. Lorraine Lange, was honored with the Art Venture award
