Yoko Ono's "Cut Piece" performed by Taubman Curatorial Coordinator Eva Thornton.
In "Cut Piece," one of Yoko Ono's performance pieces first presented in 1964, a single performer sits on the stage wearing his or her best clothing. A pair of scissors is placed nearby and it is announced that the audience may cut pieces of the performer's clothing to keep. The performer remains motionless throughout the performance.
