In this 4-week seminar participants will use and develop what they already know –and what they can teach themselves – to make pictures that are expressive, original, and personal through invention and play. Because learning to play and to look at and rethink your own work is among the most important skills you can have as an artist. This class is designed to help you loosen up and to bolster your courage to do so. Participants will also examine and discuss works by a few artists working with this technique, including Henri Matisse, Jean Dubuffet, and Romare Bearden.
