Full Time Position: Grant & Advancement Services Coordinator
The Grant & Advancement Services Coordinator is responsible for researching, coordinating and drafting grant applications for the Museum. The position will require a high degree of organization and attention to detail tracking and prospecting grant applications, compiling application materials, proof reading for grammatical errors, tracking and submitting grant follow up reports, and maintaining organization in historic files. The candidate will function as the main point of contact for all grant applications, matching Museum funding needs and assigning and following up with internal staff on their components of the application. Technical competence is required for online applications, navigating the grant search engine and reporting past giving from the museum’s constituent database. This position will also provide a wide range of administrative support to the Advancement Department and office management. A high degree of confidentiality, technical competence and professionalism is required in performing all duties.
Part Time Position: Exhibition Associate
Professional, creative, energetic, and experienced part-timer needed for exhibition related functions at the Taubman Museum of Art. The Exhibitions Associate provides critical support to the curatorial department by assisting with its exhibition and administrative duties. Duties may include handling art, packing and unpacking crates, keeping records, and specific administrative support as assigned. This position reports to the Deputy Director of Exhibitions. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule. Approximately 22 hours a week with some nights and weekends. Skills and competencies required: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in art, art history, museum studies, or related field. Strong organizational skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office, Photoshop and InDesign favored. 1-3 years of museum work experience required; previous art-handing experience preferable. Demonstrated college level writing skills (sample required). Must be detail orientated. Willing to work in a team environment while adhering to deadlines and a demanding work load. Start date, August 3.
