Sidewalk Art Show
The 55th Annual Sidewalk Art Show presented by Kroger will be held on Saturday, June 1 from 10am-5pm and Sunday, June 2 from 11am-5pm in Downtown Roanoke rain or shine. The show is one of western Virginia's most anticipated summer traditions and admission is free. Additional local sponsors include Valley Bank, Q99, and Shenandoah Life.
Since its inception in 1958 the Sidewalk Art Show has welcomed thousands of visitors for this two-day event and has become a premier destination for fine art shopping. All of the works exhibited are for sale and include original paintings, drawings, watercolors, etchings, mixed media, fine art photographs, fine crafts, and sculpture. Proceeds from the show benefit the museum's education and outreach programs.
The Sidewalk Art Show will feature more than 100 outstanding artists from across the United States, with a strong representation of Virginia artists. The judge for this year is Sarah Sargent, independent art critic and a contributing editor of Virginia Living Magazine. In addition to awards for Best in Show, Second and Third Prize, additional awards by medium and memorial awards will be presented, along with a new award celebrating the "Art of Mobility".
