GIANT Chess!

Have you seen the large chess piece sculptures on display in the glass corridor?
Or have you seen the 2 examples of the 16'x16' chess board hanging in the Art Venture?

The Taubman and Patrick Henry High School will present a larger than life chess match to take place in the museum's Atrium! Participants will play with the chess pieces created by Roanoke County Art Teachers during their Summer 2011 professional development, and play on the chess board painted by the 2011 9th grade Museum Studies art students from Burton Center for Arts and Technology.

Patrick Henry High School will be bringing along a number of chess sets for visitors to play in the Atrium. These sets will be accompanied by a cheat sheet in case anyone needs a little help getting started.

Hope to see you there!
