Adult Class Weekend Intensive

STRETCH your drawing ability in this workshop by drawing large-scale figures! We will start with foundational drawing techniques including plumb lines, proportional measuring and gesture drawing, and build up to a two-session 36” figure drawing. Class time will include drawing from the model, demonstrations, some art history and lots of personal feedback. Students will work in charcoal and pastel, and materials will be provided.

Instructor Elise Schweitzer makes large paintings of dancers, skydivers, horseback riders and all kinds of characters. Working from life creates visual clarity and builds direct connections between her art and her subjects. Her current artwork focuses on the equestrians and horses at Hollins University, where she is an assistant professor of painting and drawing. For more information about Elise and her artwork, visit EASchweitzer.com.

Class takes place over the weekend of Sept 16 & 17 from 1-4pm both days

Series Price: $120 | $100 members
